how do I use one laptop monitor to view the broken monitor on my other laptop?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin in one view | 3 Comments »

I have two laptops, the monitor doesnt work well on one of them…I would like to use the monitor portion of my good working laptop to view the contents of my other laptop.

If the laptop with the broken screen is running windows XP professional then boot it up and log in via remote desktop – That is of course assuming remote desktop is enabled on that machine.

Incase you don’t know, Remote desktop enables you to login to another computer from a different one – EG you can log into your laptop with the bad screen, from the one with a good screen – assuming you have them both networked.

alternatively follow the above advice and get a proper flatscreen temporarily, enable remote desktop, setup the network, and then take the flatscreen back for a refund – say you wern’t happy with it (and make up some excuse).

Should fix ya up

What will happen in the book after Eclipse in the Twilight series? Not edwards point of view but the other one

Posted on March 3rd, 2010 by admin in one view | 3 Comments »

What will happen in the new book in the twilight series? Not the one in Edward’s point of view. Im so obssesed with the books that i keep reading the first three books over and over again. Can someone tell me what’s going to be in the next book? Because i am going to go crazy if Bella doesn’t turn into a vampire! :) So if anyone knows for sure please tell me! :)

Bella will realize both of them are too good for her and become a crazy old cat lady.
Nahh. No one knows what will happen because Stephenie hasn’t even finished writing them yet. When she’s done, the first chapter will probably go in the back of Eclipse and on her website though :)
I know though. If Bella doesn’t become a vampire soon, I’m going to Forks and stabbing Jacob (He’s the only one I don’t like much…)
Btw, I think the Volturi will be in this one too :)

Is this a shortssighted policy or a rational one in view of the interests of union members?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin in one view | 1 Comment »

The U.S. labor movement, which mostly represents blue-collar workers rather than professionals and highly educated workers, has traditionally favored limits on imports from less-affluent countries. Is this a shortssighted policy or a rational one in view of the interests of union members?how does the answer depend on the model of trade?

Not only does it affect our jobs, it’s a morality issue.

In the US we have laws that *mostly* regulate what companies are allowed to do in regards to labor, environment, and health & safety.

Every imported product purchased has a detrimental effect on a US job. Until China really opened up to trade, Wal-Mart actually carried products that were made by American workers. Now they import everything because they pay a lot less, can charge a little less than for a US product, and greatly increase their profits. Basic math – Increase profit by reducing cost.

By importing everything and sending the work out of the country, we’re basically dumping our trash on the neighbor’s doorstep and flipping them the bird. We become Poverty’s Enabler and limit our concern for the Environment to our yard. We’re also assuming a risk to ourselves – how about that tainted Wheat Gluten, lead in children’s toys & clothing, the toothpaste thing, etc?

If the Trade Agreements had Labor and Environmental clauses that were enforceable it would make a little more sense. Then again, it would reduce the incentives to import products and export jobs.

If we launched a camera 2000 light years away and it got there in one second, couldn’t we view 2000 years ago?

Posted on February 27th, 2010 by admin in one view | 16 Comments »

If the technology existed today, that we could build a camera that traveled so fast, it got 2000 light years in one second, couldn’t the camera view earth 2000 years ago.
Example: If the earth blew up in the year 2000, and we launched a camera 2000 light years away in the year 4000, and it got to the destination in like one second, and it relayed information in one second, couldn’t we view the earth exploding?

Yes. We could do exactly as you say.

However, we couldn’t see what’s going ON on earth, because there is no camera that would have enough resolution to make out anything smaller than a few hundred kilometers across at that distance.

HOWEVER:
It is important to note that it is impossible to move anything faster than the speed of light. In fact, it is impossible to move anything with mass AT the speed of light. So while your thought experiment about what we could see is valid, in reality, it can’t happen.

It is also impossible to relay information at faster than the speed of light, since electromagnetic waves (like radio and light) have a maximum speed equal to the speed of light.

Is the way one views himself more or less accurate than how others around him view him?

Posted on February 25th, 2010 by admin in one view | 7 Comments »

In some ways, I think the way one views himself is more accurate than how others view him. But on the other hand, outsiders can see other things I don’t think an individual can see. Which view do you think is more accurate?

It’s true, but nobody will ever know you as much as you do. They may see the outside, and a select few will see the inside, but only YOU know the true essence of your being, who you are, who you were, and who you will be. So the self I believe is more accurate. You know about yourself more than anybody, your hopes, your dreams, your likes and dislikes, your quirks, accomplishments and downfalls. Others simply give a perspective of how their being perceives you.In turn you could listen or pay no mind, because in the end it’s all up to you on who you want to be.

Can I watch a pay-per-view on two different televisions for one price?

Posted on February 23rd, 2010 by admin in one view | 1 Comment »

If I buy a pay per view on one verizon fios cable box can I watch it on my other verizon fios box in the same household? Or do I have to buy them on both boxes?

When you buy a PPV you create a private channel between your set-top box and the content provider. So, it should work only on one box. However, you lose nothing by trying!
