The Lakeview Mural Project is a community project and its goal is to install a mural on the long wall (over 130 yards), which stands adjacent to the Lakeview Elementary School facing the 580 Freeway on/off ramp at Grand Avenue (see map).

The mural, "Our Community -- Our World", visualizes a global interpretation of Lake Merritt, a panoramic view of the whole world represented by natural and man-made landmarks and cultural icons. In the sky, children are riding on the backs of flying geese, waving and smiling.

We need your financial support in order to pay for the materials and to compensate twelve artists who will be painting the mural.

If you make a contribution of $500 or more, your name or business name will be acknowledged on the mural.*
