Those creepy sounds you hear at 3.33 are from the intro to Radiohead’s “Climbing up the walls”… truly hope Mr. Sands paid for the rights.. Anyway, one of the best shorts I’ve ever seen. Breathtakingly executed.. very original idea.

Hmm… do you really believe that? You’ve just cut most action movies, kung fu movies, etc. out. And… if “cinema that just entertains” is bad… why isn’t everything else that “just entertains” bad? Are sports bad? Are board games bad?
I think that entertainment is of value by itself. Sometimes it’s fine to “just” be entertained.

There is a rational part to every mind.
You shouldn’t …
You shouldn’t compare cinema with the other art forms. Cinema is also a very strong mass communication medium. There should be a message to establish a communication. If art is just for pleasing the eye, then what is the difference between the “art” and “porn”? Art should be the “CURE” for the sickness of humanity and civilizations. It should be showing a way to help people finding theirselves (CORE). Cinema that just entertains people is a way of escapism, a drug which covers up the reality!

@kingofskateop I really don’t mean to be negative – but why do people insist that films, music, pictures, etc. have messages or meaning behind them?
Sometimes a painting is just pleasing to the eye, sometimes a song just sounds nice – sometimes a film is entertaining but without a message.
If you require a message for your entertainment/art then seek that out – but don’t require film makers to meet your preferences.

i think the film is saying that the mind will go to great lengths to believe and achieve what it wants. maybe you should take some philosophy if you are looking for broad, abstract rationalization on the meaning of God or whatever the it is you are rambling about. don’t be a hater because you are stupid and are overreaching for meaning.
