Cyma – Vintage Watch Manufacturer

Cyma is one of the oldest but least well known high end watch producers within the world. Throughout their historical past Cyma have produced over 30 million watches and trace their history going all the way back to 1862 at which time the Schwab brothers first began the company. Cyma is French for "Summit". In early 1892 another business partner joined Cyma (Frederick Sandoz) before helping the brothers set up a factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds. 19 years after which Cyma started manufacturing well-known super slim pocket timepiece, which was considered one of their earliest chronometers. By Ninteen Ten Cyma Watch started making in excess of two thousand wrist watches per day, and within 5 years were additionally making producing waterproof watches. By the mid twenties Cyma had become one of the largest watch manufacturer in Switzerland, before starting automatic watches in the mid Nineteen Forties. Cyma has since declined considerably in comparison with its other Swiss rivals, but remains a premium Swiss manufacturer with a strong brand identity.
