Hey I thought I was … Hey I thought I was the only one who missed the network movies. Do they even have network movies anymore? Everything is reality shows now. Boy do I miss the good ole’ days.
I watched this … I watched this mivie when it premiered. It was filmed here in Virginia. I do miss the days when the networks had a set night (or more) for movies. Now its whenever they can find the time.
My gramma tried to … My gramma tried to talk me out of watching this. I guess she thought it would be too scary for me. I loved roller coasters and she probably didn’t want anything to ruin that for me. She was right about the movie sticking in my mind, though, I remember the guy yelling, “get outta that car!” Wasn’t there a scene where people were climbing out and down from the coasters? I used the “get outta that car” line to google and hopefully find this, so she’s right, it stuck, lol.
I grew up in that … I grew up in that area and remember when this movie was filmed. Ocean View Amusement Park was a real place, and it was a big deal when they blew up the rollercoaster for the movie.
And, what a great ‘ … And, what a great ’70’s cast: Mannix, the guy from Space: 19999, and the girl from Benson. All that’s missing is Donny Most from Happy Days. They’d make a good cast for a Love Boat ep, too.
I absolutely love … I absolutely love this Movie presentation. It makes me feel happy and sad that these days long gone. I can feel the exciting buildup with anticipation.
I guess I haven’t … I guess I haven’t either. I love all the great movie intros from the ’70s, and even into the ’90s. This one really rocks! And, like the others say, it brings back great childhood memories!
This is great! Such … This is great! Such a nostalgic treat, but it also brings back a time before cable, when a real “Movie” was something that you only saw at the theaters or on a show like this. They weren’t on 24/7 like today.
Nice post, thanks so much. I speak for many in saying we miss these times in our childhood. This takes us back for a few minutes…
They are gone for … They are gone for good, Remember those were the days when we only had 4 or 5 channels to choose from. They have now dumped the long intros to sell commercials. Loved the old movie intros of the 70s and eighties, they send a chill down my spine to see them once again….memories of my youth.
Those were the good … Those were the good ole days. What ever happened to the 8:00 featured movies on the major networks. They used to all have a good Fri, Sat, & Sun night movie. Reality TV has taken over and I hate it!!

Notice how they …
Notice how they lifted every line they could from “Jaws”.
“This place/beach is going to be open, and nothing’s gonna stop it!”
“Get out of that car/the water!”
