my dream house has to be next or near the ocean. Seems like the only houses with such views are million dollar homes..is this true? what are some areas that are cheap (with good quality of living) and nice houses by the ocean?
Maybe the African coast line. Although if you want a "good quality of living" you need to pay for it no matter where you build.

Tony – not sure what price point you consider ‘cheap’ – latin america indeed brings you into lower price points – you can get a 1,700 sq. foot home on the ocean in Ecuador for instance…
in the U.S. – Mobile / NW florida will get you cheaper close to on the ocean properties – Panama City beach, Fl to Destin, Fl there are some great condos close to the ocean especially along 30a that can be had for amazing prices – but work would be tough there to find as it is primarily ‘tourism’ type of place. Quality of living is pretty nice there – it truly is the only ‘carribean of the U.S." with it’s white sandy beaches and laid back style.
New Smyrna Beach has some good deals now too – you have to decide on a price point and just start hunting, making offers as in this market.
Oregon coast area as well
In today’s market – you should try to pick up a short sale..
