I’m going on my first cruise with my boyfriend and I’m still not sure what room to get. For a cheaper price i can get a Ocean view Stateroom Guarantee – OV which i believe means they can put me wherever they want. Has anyone ever booked with them like this? did it end up good? fair? or just plain horrible? please let me know thanks!
Booking a guaranteed oceanview is a reasonable thing to do. For the same money, I like to pick my cabin (near the middle of the ship is best), but for a decent discount, I’ll take the Guaranteed OV. Not a big deal. They will pick a room for you, but it will be an average room. It’s not a Guranteed Horrible room.

I do it often if the price is much lower. You will still get an oceanview at least as good as the one you paid for. Often you get upgraded when you get a guaranty. I have never been sorry.

I went on a cruise with collegues and we had no window staterooms we got from a travel agent, this summer my husband and I are taking a party of 11 on a cruise to Mexico, we all have the Presidential Suites at 9K for 11 of us. And that was the best Carnival could give us, we checked everywhere for the bargains but they all came out the same.
Have a great time, the room never mattered to me, it was about being on the ship, but this is our wedding anniversary and we’re getting remarried on board the cruise.
