What is the difference in an ocean view and oceanfront hotel room?

Ocean-view means just that a view of the ocean. It could be a sliver. Palms could obstruct your view but it’s a small view of the ocean.
Oceanfront means you have a direct sight of the ocean. Usually means you are on the beach very close to the ocean. The higher the floor the better the ocean sighting.

Oceanfront always cost more but very much worth it for most people who enjoy watching the waves come crashing in land.

I hope that helps explain the difference.

A ocean front is the lower floor where you can see and access the beach, A ocean view means you can look out you window and see the ocean.

An ocean front hotel means that the hotel is on the ocean, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that all of the rooms are facing the ocean. Ocean view means that you can see the ocean from the room. In Myrtle Beach they charge more for the rooms that face the water and less for the ones that face the road.

Oceanfront means your hotel is literally ON the beach — Ocean view means that your hotel room has a "view" of the ocean— which can mean some fairly "arbitrary" terms here– there are places that advertise "ocean view" that one has to do some REAL looking to see the smallest sliver of ocean !!

An ocean view will give you a few of the ocean, regardless of floor ( it could even be across the street from the beach, as long as you can see the ocean it is an ocean view) Ocean front mean the hotel is on the beach. Unless you specify an ocean view ( which will cost you more) you could wind up looking at a parking lot from your balcony. Be very specific as to what you want or they will get ya, wording can be deceiving.

Be carefull hear, if you are booking this room ask lots of questions. Ocean View could be on the top floor 3 blocks from the ocean, if you can see even the smallest part of it, it legally is an ocean view, and you will have been ripped off.
Oceanfront means the hotel sits right on the beach. An ocean view will cost you more, but it is worth it. Get a room that is above the second floor so that at night you can leave the balcony doors open and listen to the sound of the ocean–well worth the extra expense.
