How do you view body modification for religious purposes?

Assuming that the person is over the age of consent?

Things such as religious tattoos, scarification, circumcision, suspension, or similar?

Why do you hold that view?

I don’t think I would ever do anything like it, but as long as the person isn’t having presure put on them by others to do things they are uncomfortable with, it isn’t too bad. Painful though. But if they are over the age of consent, it’s their choice pretty much, right?
