just watched it to day and was wandering….if so can you explain it
Well, this is how I see it:
Max was obviously a troubled child. His dad was not around, his sister ignored him, and he felt that his mom didn’t love him enough. He acted out to get attention, which frustrated his mom and made her yell at him which made him feel even more unloved. He ran away to where the wild things are, and there he meets Carol, KW, and all the others. I think Carol represents Max, and KW and the others represent Max’s mom/sister/his broken family or something. Carol acts out because he wanted KW’s attention. He wanted her to stay so their family would be complete. Like Max loved his mom, Carol loved KW, and he thought that she didn’t love him back (he was jealous of those two owls. I forgot their names, but it was sort of like the situation with Max and his mom’s new bf). KW talked to Max about how she loved Carol and the others, but he just made things harder to become a family. I guess Max realized that Carol and him were alike, and that he had been making things harder than it already was for his mom.
I might be wrong, but yea, that’s how I interpreted the movie.
yeah, its all about lonely angry kids and children they see the world differently from adults, max felt angry and abandoned when his sister was mean to him and his mother ignored him for her boyfriend, and he didnt know how to express him anger so he broke things and did bad things, and to get attention he would act out, and when his mother said whats wrong with you, he felt alone and ignored and forgotten and wanted people to pay attention to him all the time, so he imagined a world where he was king and everyone would always play with him, until he learned from them that people dont want to be around someone who is always mean and violent, and he decided being kind was a much better way of getting attention then by acting out, so he goes home and realizes his mother loves him after all, its really a really sad movie, not really a kids movie, has a lot of dark themes and topics.
